Hay Types

Timothy & Ryegrass Mix

This hay is taken from pasture grown especially for hay making from grass seed. It may have a higher nutritional value than meadow hay.

This is a mix consisting of approximately:

• 20% timothy

• 20% meadow fescue

• 60% perennial ryegrass

Permanent Pasture Hay

This is taken from fields that have been down to grass for many years. It contains a wider variety of naturally occurring grasses than seed hay.

Conservation Hay

This is similar to the meadow hay and is taken from land that have been down to grass for many years. It has received no fertilizer or pesticides and herbicides.

​

It contains a wider variety of naturally occurring grasses than seed hay, as well as more clovers, wild flowers and herbs than the permanent pasture hay.

Meadow Hay

This is taken from fields recently sown with a custom horse mix containing no rye grass. The mix contains Timothy, 3 types of Fescue, Dogstail, and smooth stalked meadow grass.
